WAIROA DAY 1: Hiiata x Laced Streetwear

A gorgeous Saturday avro in Wairoa!

The 5:00am start was a pipe-dream, we set metaphorical sail towards our literal music video dreams around 10:00am. The day was spent collecting one-shot-b-roll-run-throughs (dubbed). 

First thing quick stop into Osler's Bakery for an iconic kiwi brekky of PIE. Allegedly the best pies in the country, shout outs to Ham for shouting us broke artists. Then we started the day up at the local skatepark (Hamish got stepped out by a 10 y/o there the pervious night). Wasn't long before, like seagulls to hot chips, the kids swarmed in for a looksie. Seeing the way Hiiata interacted with the youth in his little rural community was heartwarming, and they were considerate enough to let us do a couple of takes in the quarter bowl (a high-demand location) without too many interruptions (bless their tiny souls). 

Next stop was Tui hill! Found a pretty scene on the side of a bend in the road, looking out over the township. Perfect for a quick shoot before getting back into the music video, Laced Streetwear coming THRU with some high-contrast camo pants.   Got a couple of nice takes, stood in some cow shit, Hamish sat in the car and had cones out of a tiny Fanta bottle, it was a good time had by all!

Last stop was the beach at sunset. We ended up being a bit too late to catch the best of the setting sun, but what we got was beautiful nonetheless. Stunning greyish/purple gradients across the lake up to the sky; the horizon interrupted by a black sand bar, bright yellows and oranges all over the hills.
